What are the uses of Permalloy cores?

2023-03-16

With the continuous advancement of science and technology, all walks of life have also developed greatly. The development prospect of Permalloy cores is also very good, so the demand is constantly increasing, and there are more and more manufacturers on the market. As a manufacturer, it is also very necessary for us to tell you about the uses of Permalloy cores here. Interested friends can take a look together.

Before using this Permalloy core, many problems have accompanied everyone. Therefore, to use it better, you need to understand some of its knowledge points. First of all, you need to know that the Permalloy core provides a magnetic flux path. In order to improve the permeability of the magnetic circuit and reduce the eddy current loss of the core, the Permalloy core is made of thin silicon steel sheets coated with an insulator. Now some commonly used ones are generally made of silicon steel sheets. Ordinary silicon steel is a steel containing silicon (silicon is also called silicon), with a silicon content of 0.8~4.8%. Silicon steel is used as the core of a transformer because silicon steel itself is a magnetic material with strong magnetic conductivity. In an energized coil, it can generate a larger magnetic induction intensity, thereby reducing the volume of the transformer. The current product mainly consists of the core body, fasteners, and insulation parts. The body and the magnetic conductor are both made of electrical steel sheets. Fasteners, clips, screws, glass straps, rigid straps, and gaskets, etc. Or there are insulation parts, insulating clamps, insulating tubes and insulating pads, grounding plates and gaskets, etc. In addition, iron loss will also be caused by hysteresis during use. Magnetization process, the magnitude of this loss is proportional to the area enclosed by the material hysteresis loop. The hysteresis loop of silicon steel is narrow, the hysteresis loss of the transformer core is small, and the heat generation can be greatly reduced.

 Permalloy Core

Permalloy core is an iron-nickel alloy with high permeability under weak magnetic fields. Nickel-iron alloys with nickel content exceeding 30% have a single-phase face-centered cubic (γ) structure at room temperature, but the single-phase structure near 30% Ni is very unstable, so you need to know that some practical iron-nickel soft magnetic alloys contain more than 36% nickel. Iron-nickel alloys contain about 75% (atomic fraction) nickel. In this single-phase alloy, a Ni3Fe long-range ordered phase transition will occur. At this time, the lattice constant and physical properties of the alloy, such as some comparative resistivity and magnetism, will change. Therefore, please consider the impact of order transformation on performance. Usually, a small amount of additional elements such as Mo or Cu are added to the Ni3Fe alloy to suppress the formation of long-range order. In short, the Permalloy core consists of a core column and a yoke. In order to reduce eddy current and hysteresis losses and improve the permeability of the magnetic circuit, the core is made of silicon steel sheets with a thickness of 0.35 mm to 0.5 mm coated with insulating paint and alternately laminated. Its cross-section is rectangular or square, and the cross-section of the large transformer core is stepped, and the Permalloy core is to make full use of the space.
