Clamp meter core What is its shape?

The clamp meter core is irregularly shaped. The working part of the clamp meter core mainly consists of an electromagnetic meter and a current transformer. The core of the current transformer is made into a movable opening and closing structure, hence the name "clamp meter". It is a portable instrument that can measure current directly without disconnecting the circuit. It is very convenient and widely used in electrical maintenance. By switching the switch positions, the clamp meter core can be changed to different ranges. However, when the gear is open, it is not allowed to operate.

        Clamp meter core

The clamp meter core can measure DC voltage, capacitance, transistors, resistance, temperature, frequency, etc. The working principle of the meter is the same as that of a transformer. The primary coil is the wire passing through the core, equivalent to the 1-turn primary coil of a transformer, i.e., a step-up transformer. The secondary coil and the meter constitute the secondary circuit. When the wire is energized, this coil generates an electromagnetic field, which induces a current in the secondary circuit. The ratio between the primary and secondary currents is the inverse ratio of the number of turns in the primary and secondary coils. The meter is used for large currents. If the current is not large enough, the number of turns can be increased, the current passing through the primary wire can be measured by the instrument, and the measured value can be divided by the number of turns. The secondary winding of the clamp-type current transformer is wound on the core and connected to the meter. Its main winding is the measured conductor passing through the center of the transformer. The knob is actually a range selection switch, and the handle is used to open and close the moving part of the current transformer core so that it can clamp onto the measured conductor.

When the handle is pressed, the jaws open, and the current-carrying conductor to be measured is placed in the middle of the current transformer. When current passes through the conductor, the magnetic flux induces a current in the secondary winding of the current transformer. After passing through the coil, the pointer of the electromagnetic flow meter deflects, indicating the measured value on the dial.

The working principle of the ammeter is the combination of a current transformer and a meter. When the handle is pressed, the core can be opened; the wire passes through, the current can pass through the open core without disconnecting it, and the core closes when the handle is released. The line passing through the core becomes the primary coil of the current transformer, and in the primary coil, current is induced into the secondary coil. Therefore, the meter connected to the secondary coil has a reading-----the current of the measured line. By changing the switch position, Clamp meter core it can be changed to different ranges. However, when the gear is open, it is not allowed to operate. The clamp meter generally has low accuracy, generally 2.5 ~ 5 levels. For ease of use, the meter has switches for different ranges, and can measure different levels of current and voltage.
