Introduction Clamp meter core Its uses and working principle

Normally, when measuring current with an ordinary ammeter, the circuit needs to be disconnected and stopped before the ammeter can be connected for measurement. This is very troublesome, and sometimes it is not allowed to do so for normally operating motors. In this case, it is much more convenient to use a clamp meter to measure the current without disconnecting the circuit. The working principle of the clamp meter core is as follows:

The clamp meter core is a combination of a current transformer and an ammeter. When the handle is squeezed, the core can open; the wire passes through, and the measured current can pass through the open core without disconnecting it, and the core closes when the handle is released. The line passing through the core becomes the primary coil of the current transformer, and in the primary coil, the current is induced into the secondary coil. Connecting the secondary coil to the ammeter will cause the ammeter to indicate the measurement of the current of the measured line. By switching the gear of the switch, the clamp meter can be changed to different ranges. However, it is not allowed to operate when the gear is open. The clamp generally has low accuracy, generally 2.5 ~ 5. For ease of use, the meter has switches with different ranges, which can measure different levels of current and voltage measurement functions.

        Clamp meter core

The clamp meter core is an instrument that combines a current transformer and an ammeter. It is an important branch of digital multimeters, and its working principle is the same as that of current transformer measurement. The clamp meter is a combination of a current transformer and an ammeter. When the handle is squeezed, the core can open; the wire passes through, and the measured current can pass through the open core without disconnecting it, and the core closes when the handle is released. The line passing through the core becomes the primary coil of the current transformer, and in the primary coil, the current is induced into the secondary coil. Therefore, the ammeter connected to the secondary coil has instructions ----- measuring the current of the measured line.

By switching the gear of the switch, the clamp meter core can be changed to different ranges. However, it is not allowed to operate when the gear is open. The clamp generally has low accuracy, generally 2.5 ~ 5. For ease of use, the meter has switches with different ranges, which can measure different levels of current and voltage measurement functions.

A clamp meter core is an instrument used to measure the current of a live wire. It can measure current without disconnecting the circuit. This is an electrical instrument for measuring large AC currents.

The following points should be noted when using a clamp meter core:

  1. Select the appropriate range stop. Do not use a small range stop to measure large currents. If the measured current is small, the current-carrying wire can be wound several times into the clamp for measurement, but the reading should be divided by the number of turns of the winding, which is the actual current value.

  2. Do not switch the range during measurement.

  3. Note that the voltage on the circuit should be lower than Clamp meter core the rated value. Do not use a clamp meter core to measure the current of a high-voltage circuit, otherwise, it is easy to cause accidents or electric shock hazards.
